How to cite Iran Monitor and the terms under which it may be reused.

What to cite

• If you used a numbered DOI release, cite that release.
• If you downloaded or analysed a maintained database snapshot, cite that snapshot: routine snapshots carry no DOI, and their permanent URL /snapshots/<ID>.xlsx identifies one exact file.
• The live database is for current browsing and can change, so it is not a fixed research object.

Identifiers

A snapshot URL identifies one exact, unchangeable dataset file. Each frozen release has its own version DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.23428160 identifies Version 1.2; 10.5281/zenodo.22769697 identifies Version 1.1 and 10.5281/zenodo.22072924 identifies Version 1.0. The concept DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22072923 always resolves to the project record rather than to one frozen version. Person identifiers of the form IRM-P-#### are permanent within the record; field definitions are in the Codebook.

Iran Monitor is provided under CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International). Reuse for research, teaching, journalism, and other purposes is permitted with attribution.

Versioning

Once a scholarly release is frozen, substantive changes to data, coding, schema, or methodology are issued in a later version; routine website maintenance does not alter a frozen release, and maintenance activity does not produce a snapshot. Version details, DOIs, and archived records are listed under Releases.
