Iran Monitor is a research database. This page describes how the site actually behaves for an ordinary public visitor, not a generic policy template.
No tracking, no analytics, no advertising
Iran Monitor does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, tracking pixels, behavioural profiling, or third-party analytics services. No advertising or measurement scripts are loaded on any page of this site.
Cookies
The site does not set cookies during ordinary public browsing. There is no cookie banner because there are no non-essential cookies to consent to.
Browser storage
The site framework may store one strictly functional item in your browser's session storage to preserve scroll position and navigation state as you move between pages. It contains no identifier, is not used to recognise, profile or track visitors, and is discarded with the browser session or tab as applicable.
Third-party resources
Links to external resources — for example DOI records on Zenodo or cited source material — are ordinary hyperlinks. Those services apply their own privacy practices once you choose to follow a link. Map geometry and all page assets are served from this site.
Server and hosting information
Delivering a website necessarily involves processing technical request information. Our hosting and server infrastructure may process data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps and requested pages for the purposes of delivering pages, security, reliability and operational logging. This information is not used to build visitor profiles or for marketing.
Downloads and the database
Dataset and codebook downloads, and the workbook generated from the live database, are served as ordinary file responses. Requesting them does not create an account, a cookie or a stored identifier.
Future changes
If non-essential analytics, tracking, or other consent-requiring technologies are introduced at a later stage, this privacy and cookie information and an appropriate consent mechanism will be updated and in place before those technologies are activated.
